HBF 2014

Harbury Beer Festival 2014

Brewsters

  • Friday 29th August 2014: 5.30pm – 11.30pm
  • Saturday 30th August 2014: 11.30am – 4.00pm and 6.00pm – 11.30pm

The HBF 2014 was a great success with 1,050 admissions over the three sessions, exceeding previous festivals in recent years.

21 new members were signed up during the festival, of which 13 were local to the Heart of Warwickshire area. We welcome these new members and encourage them to join in our social events!

Despite bad weather on the Friday the hall was filled to capacity and the atmosphere was buzzing!

The theme this year was ‘Brewsters’ – that’s female brewers for the uninitiated. The beer choices were very popular with little left by the end of Saturday night.

  • Beers of Festival:
    1st – Abduction – Dancing Duck
    2nd – Rum & Raisin – Church Farm
    3rd – High Wire – Magic Rock

Special 20th Anniversary Warwickshire brews –most votes to Fortitude, Church End.

Thanks to all the volunteers including those from the Birmingham Branch and of course thanks to all our customers, members and non-members who made the festival such a success..

Entertainment

Entertainment on the Saturday was again provided by the Hereburgh Morris Dancers in the afternoon and by the ‘Strumtroopers’ in the evening.

The Strumtroopers are “a multi-instrumental ukulele based covers band, specialising in irreverent re-imaginings of rock and pop classics from ABBA to The Specials” and were ively and entertaining and enjoyed by all.
